Contemporary Visual Artist

SØNGE is the artistic identity of Karim Rhrich, a contemporary visual artist whose practice explores the metamorphosis of the soul through painting, abstraction, and material experimentation.

His work investigates the invisible dimensions of human experience, exploring the relationships between emotion, memory, identity, and the connections that unite us. Through spontaneous gestures, textures, layers, and contrasts, he develops a visual language in which matter becomes a medium for expressing inner transformations.

His artistic universe is shaped by cultural encounters and musical influences, which inform his approach to rhythm, movement, and vibration. Moving between intuition and experimentation, his practice seeks to reveal what often remains unseen, inviting viewers to engage with their own perceptions and experiences.

Material exploration and ecological awareness have also become part of his artistic journey. During an artist residency at Le Réal Mogador Art Centre in Essaouira, Morocco, in 2025, he collected discarded materials along the coastline, including textiles, wood, and scrap metal. He transformed reclaimed fabrics into painting surfaces and created an installation around a whale bone found on the beach, exploring the relationship between artistic transformation, human activity, and the environment.

His professional journey includes participation in Art Fair Monaco in 2021, represented by Galerie Van Gogh Art Madrid; an artist residency and exhibition at Hôtel Pasteur Art Centre in Rennes in 2021; and an exhibition at La P’tite Galerie in Châteaugiron in 2022. In 2024, he presented three large-scale works made from recycled textiles at Living4Art Gallery. He founded Mimétique Art Gallery in Rennes in 2025. In 2026, his work was exhibited at Living4Art Gallery in Casablanca and presented in an ongoing exhibition at Le Réal Mogador in Essaouira.

Through painting and material experimentation, SØNGE continues to develop a body of work centred on the metamorphosis of the soul, where artistic gesture becomes a means of exploring emotion, memory, and transformation.
